The Wonderful World of Wendy

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming - WOW - what a ride!!

This blog has moved. Please see Wendy's World

For my next magic trick, I will make this pretty tasty little pea disappear

Sophia has many talents but few tricks. One trick she does know my husband Steve taught her. Well, I taught her "wait" which I use for a lot of things, and then Steve taught her to apply "wait" to edible things balanced on her nose.

Sophia's reward for this fine performance was an entire sugar snap pea pod, which she happily shredded all over the carpet and extricated each perfect little round pea and ate them all up!

Sophia ia a rescued Italian greyhound and has been with us since May 2005.

These photos were taken by Sophia's "grandpa", Steve's dad, Ron Jelen, who has been visiting us from Oregon.

Ah, Sophia, I had no idea you had such talents! Wait is a pretty hard command for an Italian greyhound! Much less waiting when food is at stake. You are as talented as you are lovely!
